kel: This is where the mistake is.

lise: That's right. Oops.

kel: The description says "November 2, 2006." We must have forgotten it when we went about changing all the dates so they'd lead up to Chris' birthday.

lise: We meant to mix the dates up. It shows authenticity. Because ebay is never accurate. ...yeah. Also, the shadow puppets!! I'd forgot about them.

kel: Tell the story about the shadow puppets, also.

lise: When Kel and I were driving down to Seattle from Vancouver, BC, to see Beck in concert, we got stuck at the US/Canadian border crossing for three and a half hours. And we were sitting in my truck, and we were right smack dab in the middle of writing this as well as the timbertrick to Justified.

kel: And also our very first true love in a SHACK story, but that's neither here nor there.

lise: And that trip lead to the acoustic Justin story, but that's not the important part - the *important* part is, while we were sitting in that lineup doing all those other things, there was someone standing in front of a spotlight, making huge gigantic shadow puppets on this really big stone wall.

The spots were at ground level, glaring up at this massive arch - and some kids were jumping in and out of them, casting two story shadows on the wall.

And we decided that Justin absolutely /had/ to have those in his spoken word tour. Since we didn't get to write nearly as much about the spoken word as we wanted to, it comes up in the book title.

kel: The point is that there is very little that happened in our collective universe at that point that we were not willing to co-opt in the name of Justin.

kel: Also -- "sing 'bye bye bye!'" seriously, this story is comedy GOLD.

lise: I like that we had no bids on the page. Lance must not have found the auction yet.

kel: Useless trivia about this particular section is that it sucks a little bandwidth from Ebay every time you view it. All the little graphics on the page are still coded to link to Ebay. Next.

2021 update: the page no longer sucks bandwidth from ebay because of security concerns. alas.

EBAY: ONE OF A KIND JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE COLLECTABLE. Description: This is a one of a kind Justin Timberlake collectable. On November 2, 2006, Justin Timberlake performed at the Fillmore Auditorium in San Francisco, CA as part of his Shadow Puppets 2006 spoken word tour. He read from Shadow Puppets, his book of the same name, but he seemed to think his poems were being badly received by the audience. When somebody shouted, Sing 'Bye, Bye, Bye!', he started to tear pages from the book and fling them out into the crowd. Shortly after, he left the stage, and the rest of the dates of the concert were canceled. This concert was the LAST TIME Justin was ever seen in public and this page is one of the pages that he tore out of his book, I caught it myself. It's a must-have item for any Justin Timberlake fan. Email me if you have any questions. I can show you a scan of the item, but this is for SERIOUS BIDDERS ONLY.
